Plastic grocery and store bags, soft plastic wrap, produce and bread bags, food storage bags, frozen food and rice bags, bubble wrap, air pillows, and plastic mailers are all accepted. Items must fit inside with the seal fully closed, and everything must be clean and dry. Soft and flexible plastics wrap around the machinery used in standard recycling facilities, causing jams and equipment damage. As a result, fewer than 2% of US households have access to curbside film plastic recycling — most programs simply can't accept them. Specialist facilities are needed to process them correctly.
